One of the great things about the way technology has moved along ... is that when ... they invented ‘power venters’, we were able to re-claim flues; because in old houses people would take one of the flues and let that be where the furnace went ... and what a pity.
You would come in and go ‘Oh, you can’t use that [fireplace] ... that’s for the heating system ... . Well, now you can reclaim them, and that’s a real treat ... .
The other thing ... that people are concerned about with buying old homes and living in old homes is insulation. And you can insulate a property a couple of different ways.
One is to remove the walls on the inside. The other thing is to remove the clapboarding and insulate that way, so we don’t have the problems that we used to have ... .
