In fact, people who spend the most time in the office socializing generally get promoted the fastest.
People get promoted because they’re liked by people, not because they’re extremely competent in their job. And in general, competence is a far second to being likable ... .
We know that people who are likable are the people who will hang out talking with people, and finding out what people care about.
