When you’re thinking about bathrooms there’s an element which I think you’ve got to embrace, which is the idea that there’s got to be ... separation from the world.
That separation for an adult bathroom is the separation of your bathroom from the house.
But for kids, if they share a bathroom. I advocate that there should be what I call a ‘segmented bath’; one where if a kid wants to go to the bathroom and sit on the toilet, he shouldn’t be sitting on the toilet while somebody walks in and brushes their teeth ... .
So you have flexibility and separation for the kids, and you’ve got isolation and some celebration for the adults.
