One of the findings ... in the physician patient literature is something called ‘doorknob comments’; that patients don’t talk about their main concern with their physician .... And then as the physician is leaving ... they say, ‘Oh, but there’s this one other thing”. And usually that one other thing is the most serious of all ... .
So then the physician has to get back in, because usually by this point the physician has mentally closed down the file ... is walking to leave, and now has to come back in ... .
Get those comments in earlier, so that you have time to talk about them.
