Tip:  When buying a diamond, get the best cut possible

You want an “ideal cut” stone. Why? Because it’s the cut that delivers the sparkle, and diamonds are all about sparkle.

If the stone isn’t cut well, the light, rather than refracting from the inside of the store and hitting you in the eye, might leak out the sides or the back.

Once you’ve determined cut ... then buy the best color you can afford.

And then buy a stone that’s not flawless; buy a stone that’s slightly included… and the compromise should be in the area of clarity ... .

Don’t get anything less than an SI1 because you’ll see something in it.

But the fact of the matter is we look at a diamond under a microscope one time; the day you buy the stone. After that, you’ll never look at the diamond under a microscope again.
