Tip:  Beware of the potential health risks at parties where ‘double dipping’ occurs

We found that actually when you bite a chip and dip it, you are transferring ... significant amounts of bacteria to the dip ... .

With salsa, most of the ‘dip’, so to speak, that comes in to contact with the chip ... will remain in the bowl ... .

If everyone’s healthy, I equate it with kissing someone ... .

In our research, we did not test people who were sick, or specific diseases that could be transferred, but ... we actually cited some CDC ... research that says there are several contagious diseases that are, in fact, transferred by coughing and sneezing ... .

It would only follow that ... taking that bacteria or virus from the mouth to a dip ... can certainly be picked up by someone else.
