Physical exertion is a good thing to have in a job. Intellectual complexity is a good thing to have in a job, but if it’s a stressful intellectually complex job, that might be a different story altogether ... .
When it comes down to it, I think keeping mentally active, exercising regularly, taking good care of stress, high blood pressure, diabetes, and having good family relationships are key to healthy aging.
So it’s not just one aspect but it’s a series of positive things, or negative things if you’re on the wrong side of these risk factors, that have an additive effect over the course of your life.
